Product Focus: Specter Passport Wallet

A few months ago, we were almost sold out on all our “First Generation” Specter Passport Sleeves. I was just about to place another order for this product when I started getting a few new design ideas - at the very last minute. So, I decided to spend a bit more time designing an improved version of the Passport Sleeve and this new iteration became the Specter Passport Wallet. Like the Specter Passport Sleeve, - the Specter Passport Wallet is sleek, boasts a plush leather exterior and an interior with card slots to store essential cards (and your passport, of course). It also employs RFID Blocking technology to protect you against credit card fraud and identity theft. However, unlike the Passport Sleeve, it also has a notes compartment (that’s where the “Wallet” part of the name comes from). I thought that it was an important inclusion because most travellers (such as myself) do carry foreign currency bills around with them while travelling.  When it comes to our travel leather accessories, I thought it might be important to include a slip pocket to hold SIM cards and SIM card ejector pins. Just like our luxury travel bag – the Bond Travel Briefcase, this travel wallet comes with a translucent plastic sleeve that can be removed from the slip pocket.   I feel that the Passport Wallet pairs perfectly with luxury travel bags such as the Bond Travel Briefcase or the Hunt Utility Backpack. I’m excited to hear what you guys think! And maybe some of you can offer up more suggestions as to how the future versions of this product can be further improved. Brand Focus: The Pop-up Store

Following our Kickstarter success after the campaign ended in January 2018, one of the most popular questions after the campaign was, “Do you guys have a store that we can view the products?” Currently, we are available at Metro Paragon & OG People Park thanks to Tocco Toscano and the Red Dot Museum in Singapore. We are also at Wolf & Badger in New York, Selfridges in London and we’ll be in Hong Kong soon. It’s taken a while to figure out our key markets but at the end, Singapore is ground zero and we couldn’t think of a better time to launch our first ever pop-up store in a retail setting - the month of our nations birthday, and following the launch of one of Tocco Toscano’s first ever exclusive collabs. I planned this with Joe in mind for two main things: to showcase a concept store that would entail the experience of #FunctionalLuxury through our products across both genders and to also celebrate the collaboration between Tocco Toscano and ARISSA X. But anyway, here’s what you’ll get to see/do/experience at the pop-up: Share suggestions for new or improvements on present products We have a set of prototypes that were never released to the public and would love to share them with you and get your thoughts on them We’ll be launching a new product next week and it’s an improved version of what we previously had. You’ll get to see it and buy it if you like it! I usually love to go through the manners in which you can pack the briefcase and explore which Bond product is more suitable for you according to your use case. It’s also a chance for me to find out the various items you use to pack your product so we can then explore perhaps another product to house those items. Afterall, we are building Faire as a lifestyle and so we’d want to come up with as many products as we can that help to organise your life. Come by with the missus as there’s something for both of you. Whether it be our functional leather goods, or clothes and accessories from ARISSA X, we’ve set up the store to be as engaging as possible. One thing to note is that our setup for the pop-up store is relatively simple and basic - and asides from cash transactions, all your other purchases are made via computers we have set up so it’ll be akin to shopping online at home; except it’s from our store. We’re only at OUE Downtown till the 25th of August but do stop by whenever you can. We’re open from Mondays to Fridays, from 11am - 8pm and by appointment on Saturdays. We’ll try to plan some activities as we go along in the limited time that we have left but do come down and say hi. We’ll see you there. Best,Ryan

Brand Focus: #LifeisFaire

Since our Kickstarter days, we’ve been communicating with you through our newsletters. We do one once a week and I try to plan what to say a week or two before. It’s not always easy because we want to find ways to engage with you so that there’s a constant dialogue. Joe and I were having drinks together one night, reminiscing about the early days and how active the comments board on Kickstarter was, and how much we had to engage with people from all over the world via our chat messenger - then it struck us. While (we think) the newsletters have been as informative and eye catching as possible, they’re after all one way traffic. We don’t get to hear from you, how you’re doing with the product or what you’ll think of a new launch that we have in our minds. It’s one thing to ask you what you want to see next, but a totally different thing to engage in constant dialogue, especially when you know it’s Joe or I speaking to you. Don’t get me wrong - our newsletters are still a good way of sending out information when it comes to launches, campaigns, gift guides or even just basic announcements or accolades we want to celebrate with you. But building a Facebook group allows us to be closer to you on an everyday basis. It allows us to be more effective in creating products you want and need as we can share prototypes and you can comment on them so that we can reply almost instantly. In addition to that, Faire Leather Co. would not be here without all of your support and so we want to give all our customers slight preferential treatment to thank you - whether that’s via special discounts, exclusive access to our new launches, private sales or sneak previews to prototypes, we want to make you the priority. But further to that, its about building a community. Faire is created to represent a lifestyle that's about achieving as much as you can with what is necessary. Whether it's your tools or equipment, gadgets or stationery, we wanna make sure you have everything you need, where you need them and when you need them. This is why we’ve created this closed Facebook group - we’re more than just a briefcase, backpack or wallet.
